What Is the Mental Health Collaborative?
Girasol’s Mental Health Collaborative is a network of over 100 mental health professionals trained to conduct assessments and write letters of support for immigration cases.

- Train qualified mental health professionals to evaluate individuals seeking asylum and write letters of support for their cases.
- Build a network of Collaborative Professionals who are ready to help us with immigration cases.
- Coordinate cases for immigrant-serving legal organizations and immigration attorneys in the community whose clients would benefit from evaluative mental health services.
Become a Collaborative Professional
We're always looking for new members. If you are a licensed mental health professional, a county expert, or a student studying to become a licensed mental health professional, you can join the Mental Health Collaborative by:
- Participating in our regularly-held training, Conducting Tele-Mental Health Assessments for Immigration Cases. Check our events for the next date!
- Filling out our post-training survey with your areas of expertise and experience. We'll match you with cases which you can accept or decline based on your availability.
When you join the Mental Health Collaborative, you'll gain access to:
- Training and materials to conduct letter-writing and assessments for immigration cases
- Support through a monthly consultation group
- $300 stipend per completed assessment
