Write letters to Immigrants in Detention!
While Girasol's program was built from our social work roots, we invite people from all disciplines and backgrounds to participate in Girasol's social work detention response volunteer efforts.
How you can help
Create supportive letters, notes, and drawings for immigrant families (including children) in detention. We will be working with the Dilley Pro Bono Project, the Detention Watch Network, and the Latinx Therapists in Action Network to provide opportunities for you to help immigrant families in detention know that they are not alone during this challenging time.
More information about letter writing deadlines will be provided as we work with our partners to send the letters to detention centers. Our first round of letters will go out sometime in May. If you miss this round, don't worry! We will continue to do several other rounds of letter-writing.
